Description

This 7-8 hour class is designed to help students who are already familiar with combat handguns to take their skills to the next level. The class builds on the skills covered in the Intro level class and introduces more challenging elements such as engaging targets under stress, drawing from holster / concealment, emergency and tactical reloading, shooting on the move, shooting from adverse positions, and more.

Instructors

This class is taught by Andy Hewitt, a veteran of the US Army's 75th Ranger Regiment with multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and Matt Schneider, owner of Sugar Creek and KY Department of Criminal Justice Training / NRA Certified firearms instructor.

Prerequisites

Intro to Defensive Handgun (Not mandatory, but students must be proficient with semiauto pistols.)

What to Bring

At least one semiauto pistol chambered in 9mm or bigger. At least 3 working magazines. A good holster and belt and pouches for at least two mags. 500 rounds of ammo (Sugar Creek has 9mm, 40sw, and 45acp for sale if you need it). Ear/Eye protection. Long Pants and shoes you can run and stand for several hours in. Bring a water bottle- there will be a fill up station on the range. There is a Subway and a Mcdonald's nearby or you can pack a lunch or bring something to cook on our grill or microwave. When you arrive, please be sure the weapons and magazines you will be using are unloaded.
