Description

This advanced level class is designed to take shooters already proficient with combat handguns to an elite level. The class builds on the skills learned in the Intro and Level I classes and introduces more challenging elements such as shooting in and around vehicles, shooting and reloading while wounded/using weak hand only, shooting pistols at long range, advanced position shooting, decision making while engaging targets, working/communicating with teammates, and more. This class is excellent for law enforcement officers, CCDW holders, or anyone who wants to take their combat pistol skills to the highest level.

Instructors

This class is taught by Andy Hewitt, a veteran of the US Army's 75th Ranger Regiment with multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and Matt Schneider, owner of Sugar Creek Shooting Range and NRA / KY Department of Criminal Justice Training certified firearms instructor.

Prerequisites

Must be LEO/MIL or have completed Defensive Handgun I or equivalent. No Exceptions.

What To Bring

At least one semiautomatic pistol chambered in 9mm or larger. A good holster and belt. At least three working magazines and pouches to carry at least 2 of them on your belt. 500 rounds of ammunition (Sugar Creek Range will have 9mm, 40sw, and .45acp for sale if you need it.) Long pants and shoes you can run and stand up for several hours in. Knee pads are recommended. The class will still be held in inclement weather, so prepare accordingly. Bring a water bottle, there will be a water fill up station on the range. There is a Subway and a Mcdonald's nearby, or you can pack a lunch or bring something to cook on our grill or microwave. When you arrive at the clubhouse, please be sure the gun and magazines that you will use for the class are unloaded.
